So, after the thrills and spills of London, thrills and spills of a different kind yesterday morning. Emily had her riding lesson and successfully managed the transition from trot to canter…. and promptly fell
of off [and me a home educator! shock!] at the end of a run of fast canter. It was her first fall, so it was a bit of a shock for her to say the least, and quite a hefty tumble. She got straight up, though, and the teacher had her get straight back onto Blue and back into canter for a few strides – it happened right at the end of the lesson, so that’s all there was time for, but at least she did it 🙂
As it was only her second time cantering, Emily’s still getting used to it and isn’t in control at canter (to put it mildly!) but she’s getting there and now has something she can really get her teeth into and work on. She’s extremely achy and bruised today though!
Back at home, it was time for a Monday afternoon Gramps computing session. They were working on using mail merge and Emily produced an extremely professional looking mail merge document asking for help in a village fete, complete with fill in reply coupon 🙂
Violin is still going extremely well and Emily’s spent a lot of time practising since we got back from London. Music theory is a bit shaky, but we’re getting there 🙂
