Lots going on in Emily’s French studies. Great excitement yesterday when her copy of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban…..in French… arrived, and she started devouring it within seconds. It uses the passe simple (past historic) tense for the main narrative, which we haven’t done yet, but of course that wasn’t a problem; she just looked up the grammar and away she went!
We’ve whizzed through tenses recently, having covered the perfect, imperfect and future in rapid succession, so a bit of consolidation is in order. The other day, Emily designed this rather fab poster to help her learn/remember the future tense. It has a Harry Potter background – obviously…..the renewed obsession continues – and is rather good 🙂 We need to spend more time on French though and I could do with finding a (free) resource for listening to spoken French by native speakers on real topics. A work in progress.
